Pregnancy Confirmation Scan

These scans can be performed between 6 and 11 weeks to determine foetal heart activity, to confirm if there is a single or multiple pregnancy. We will also confirm that the pregnancy is developing in the womb.

Dating Scan

Dating Scans are done between 8 and 14 weeks to obtain an expected delivery date. Overall development of the baby is checked, observing movement, skeletal structure and measurement of the nuchal lucency. 

Sexing Scan

Sexing Scans can be performed from 18 weeks onwards. The accuracy is dependent upon the position of the baby, but we would generally expect a reliability of 90 - 95%. 

Foetal Well-being Scan

This scan is best performed at 20 – 21 weeks to allow the internal organs of the baby to be examined. The scan offers the best opportunity of excluding the major abnormalities that can affect the developing foetus and look for other small subtle differences  called “soft markers”. Often these are not abnormalities as such but can be an indication of a larger problem. Foetal sexing can also be done reliably (95% accuracy) and the position of the placenta identified.

Pregnancy Reassurance Scan

A thorough overview of the developing baby using the conventional high resolution imaging process allowing assessment of the growth, activity, position and general well-being. Foetal sexing can also be performed. Assessment of blood flow through the placenta using  Doppler can be made.
